What are we going to say about Ed Wood that hasn't been said already? Are we going to have a lot of laughs at his expense?

Listen, I don't know if you know this, but the flying saucers in his movies are actually little models held by strings.

Now, Edward is someone that Will Sloan is obsessed with?

Yes, I would say that. And where did this start, Will?

Oh, well, you know, Ed Wood is, if you don't know, commonly regarded as the worst filmmaker

of all time.

And that's based on...

On a book called The Golden Turkey Awards by Harry and Michael Medved.

Michael Medved, who later became the country's most famous right-wing movie critic.

But they wrote a book called The 50 Worst Films of All Time in 1978.

And at the end of the book, it had a little ballot that readers could submit their choices for the worst movie of all time to be published in a later book.

And so in 1980, they published this book called The Golden Turkey Awards where they crowned Plan 9

from Outer Space, the worst movie ever made, and Ed Wood, the worst director of all time.

So I think I first learned about him because I asked my dad, what's the worst movie of all time

when I was six.

And he said Plan 9 from Outer Space?
