Its population, which stood at around 37,000 in 1997,

have been steadily growing since the 1950s when the Garden State Parkway

bustle of city life, especially from New York City, Jackson Township beckoned with

promises of safety and tranquility.

It was a place where families could put down routes and thrive.

As one Brooklyn native, Robert Monroe said,

We moved here because when we came looking for homes,

we saw nothing but kids playing in the yards and streets.

As the population grew, the landscape of Jackson Township changed.

Farmland and forests gave way to housing complexes to cater to the growing population.
