I've been a nutrition geek since kindergarten. I would come home and tell my mom what we're

supposed to eat according to the teacher, which is probably because I had a lot of ear infections

and I had strep throat a lot and they took out my tonsils when I was five. So I was already

health conscious as a preschool.

And it was in seventh grade. I decided I would get a degree in nutrition to help people not get

sick. Well, the going message at the time in the 1970s, which is still the same message today,

is you eat more vegetables and less hot dogs and it'll all work out and you won't get cancer

And we've been going by that story and gardening our little organic butts off and shoving

Now in college, I learned, you know, about oxalate causing kidney stones.
