Benvenuti, chow everyone. The year is closing in on us. I can hardly believe it will be November next week.

Yikes. And up until a couple of weeks ago, I had no Italy trip booked for next year.

But now I do. I'm taking my first winter trip to beautiful Italia and we land there, my family and I,

on New Year's Day. I'll be in Rome for a bit, then we're

heading up to the Dolomites for a snowy adventure, I hope. We don't get too much snow here in

Australia, so the excitement is building. I need to investigate some proper boots because who

knows what's going to happen with this weather. But one thing is for sure I want to be prepared because

it did actually snow on our early October Dolomites tour this year. That was a bit of a

So as I prepare and research for this trip, I got to thinking, how do we research for our

trips these days? Even though I've been to Italy countless times, I've not been in winter

and definitely not up in the mountains. So a lot of questions spring to mind like how cold is it generally,

what gear will we need, what's going to be open or closed, and are there any special rules
