Summary

Today I'm chatting with Dr. Marcia Sirota, a board-certified psychiatrist practicing in Toronto, Canada. She has more than 25 years of experience and specializes in health and wellness, healing trauma, unblocking creativity, and empowering people to be their best self. She is the founder of the Ruthless Compassion Institute, which promotes empowerment and self-awareness. She is the author of 5 books and instructor of 3 online courses.

In this episode, Dr. Sirota explains how to deal with difficult family members and work situations, why people stay in abusive relationships, what to do if a loved one is in an abusive relationship, and what emotional abuse really is. We discuss Luke P. and Jed's behavior on the latest season of The Bachelorette and how they portrayed different types of manipulation in relationships. We talk about dating in today's world, the pros and cons of online dating, why a slow burn is better than an intense flame, and what information to share on a first date. Dr. Sirota explains the difference between being nice and being kind, how to build self-worth and confidence, overcoming emotional eating, inner child work, and much more.
