Summary

Retired agent and podcast host Jerri Williams interviews the victims of a loan shark and extortion investigation, a spin-off case of her Group II business-to-business telemarketing undercover case.

During a proffer meeting, brothers Andy and Gary Last Name Unused (LNU) who were the subjects of her fraud case, confide that they had been getting short-term loans from the owner of a check cashing agency at interest rates exceeding 500 percent per year.

They further revealed they were the victims of a loan shark and credit extortion attempt and that they had been threatened at gunpoint if they didn't pay up.

0:49.6	from the owner of a check cashing agency at interest rates exceeding 500% per year,
0:56.9	and were being extorted to make repayments.
0:59.9	They revealed that the loan shark and his collector confronted the brother's demanding payment.
1:06.6	After a heated discussion, the loan sharks enforcer drew a handgun and fired a shot past Andy's head
1:14.0	and into the wall behind him.
1:15.8	After learning about this incident, I opened a new case with agent Darren Workmeister,
1:21.4	now also retired.
1:23.2	You've heard many times on this podcast that sometimes an agent has no idea what kind of adventures
1:30.3	they'll get into each day when they show up for work, and I certainly never thought that I would
1:35.4	be working a loan shark in case.
