So so far we have talked about gratitude, nature, purpose.

And today I'm going to be talking about exercise and how having a habit of exercising

helps make us happy.

And this is by far my favorite happiness habit

because I love exercising, I love moving my body,

I love being competitive, I love playing sports,

and athletics and sports have always been a big part

of my life and my kids' lives.

So sports make me happy, I just find joy being competitive

and playing sports. And that's just me. I know for some of you, sports don't make you happy. You don't

find joy in moving your body, which is why you have to find what works for you. Just because exercise

is my favorite doesn't mean it has to be yours, but that's why we're talking a lot

about different types of habits for you guys to stay happy in this series. So let me define

exercise for you a little bit here in this episode as it pertains to mental health and happiness.

When I say exercise, I don't mean you have to go out and run 10 miles every day to feel happy.

I don't mean you have to go like climb Mount Everest or make some huge drastic change in your life.

Exercise, the way I'm talking about it, just really means that you work up a sweat and increase your heart and your breathing rate.
