The fundamental question that these parables ask is this,

is it possible for someone who has fallen away from the fate of baptized child

to be brought to repentance? And the answer is yes, a thousand times yes, it has to be yes.

Or I'm damned. So are you.

and maybe wander from home, how much more does the Father's love for us in Christ Jesus never

cease? That is the birthright that you and I have been given in our baptism.

of reasons. But one does stand out as this undeserved act of pure mercy and love.
