Harley-Davidson, apparently is applying for a trademark

on the sound of its motorcycles, the sound.

Right, did you say apparently is applying?

That's good.

You didn't split the infinitive, as they say.

Is apparently applying.

Even though it's not an infinitive anyway, then all you were right.

Well, yeah, well, that's why I said it that way.

That's very good.

Anyway, they believe that their sound, you know, that big throaty, child-scaring, V-twin

sound is unique and therefore theirs.

And they don't want anyone else making bikes that sound like a Harley so they've applied for a trademark.

Well, you may think that Harley Davidson is breaking new ground here.
