And you're listening to The Important Cinema Club. And today we're doing our big 2020 year-end

wrap-up. It's been quite a year, hasn't it, Will? Yes. What happened this year?

I don't know, man. It just moved past in a blur. I don't even remember any of the highlights. Movie and or otherwise.

I saw so many of the big movies this year. I saw Sonic the Hedgehog. I saw Birds of Prey. I saw Underwater with Kristen Stewart.

Oh gosh. What else did I see? I saw Doolittle. I saw the grudge. And then it all came crashing down.

That's right, because of the pandemic. So we all spent the rest of our time at home, getting depressed, feeling bad, knowing that the world is ending around us because elected officials won't do anything out of fear and just stupidity. And now here we are talking

about movies once more, trying to, I don't know, sum up a whole terrible, terrible year.

Annually, this is our most popular episode. And it's going to be particularly hard this year

because I think I don't want to speak for you, but I know that I at least saw far fewer

new movies this year than I think I have in any year since I was 17, I want to say.

I mean, God.

I was looking at Letterbox because you can just kind of cycle things and categorize them by year.

And yeah, you're right.

I did not see many films in 2020, especially any films that I'm like,

oh, yeah, this was the great ones.

And as I look at the list of movies that I did see this year that were new movies,

I mean, it's a roll call of shame.

It's irresistible.

It's Tenet.

It's fucking Rebecca on Netflix. It's Tenet. It's, uh, fucking Rebecca on Netflix. It's Mank, you know,

movies that are not, I'm just going to say, be on any top 10 list of mine. Oh, definitely
