It was an idyllic time to be a child, playing outside in the summer heat until dark

The Carapidus children were doing just this near their home in Sydney, Australia.

but for reasons we don't know more than 30 years later, 10-year-old Helen did not join them.

She was last seen between 4.30 and 5pm, with the search beginning hours later.

Public debate and a coronial inquest could not decide on what happened to Helen.

mentally unwell child? This is Helen's story. Helen Carapetus was born December 10, 1978, to Theo and Vula Carapetus.
