Hello and welcome to mini episode 240 of Real Life Ghost Stories, and I have three

0:29.6

spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from November the 30th, 2022, and story number

0:35.3

one comes from Liz. There is a mission style fourplex apartment building, one of many such

0:42.0

styled buildings in the flatlands of Berkeley, California. When I moved there in June 1976,

0:49.2

it was painted a pale blue lavender and had palm trees in the front. Inside was very quaint but run

0:56.0

down. The private staircase must have been five feet wide going up. The one bedroom was separated

1:02.8

from the living room with French doors, and with an eating knuck, private laundry room, and backstairs

1:08.3

down the yard. It was a nice place. I lived there peacefully by myself for three years before this

1:15.1

happened. The night before, or rather the morning of, I was awoken by a big noise in my closet.

1:22.8

Everything had fallen off the shelf at once. I thought it was probably one of our earthquakes and

1:28.0

went back to sleep. There was no earthquake. That next night after getting comfy in bed, I could hear

1:35.2

fast, quiet tapping on the wall right next to my head. And this happened almost every night for a while,

1:41.8

I think, as long as two weeks. The first couple of nights I was mostly annoyed but as it continued,

1:47.9

it started to weird me out. And I would scrunch down in the bed to get my head away from the wall

1:53.0

and cover it up. I couldn't figure out the source of the tapping. It was not caused by water pipes.

1:59.8

The head of my bed was on the other side of the stairwell wall, and the plumbing was at the

2:04.0

other end of the apartment in the back. Then one night I lay down to go to bed and I'd barely

2:09.6

gotten snuggled in. When in my left ear, I clearly heard a sing-song female voice say,

2:16.0

Lizzie, I'm here with you. Well, I left about of bed, smashed the light on and proclaimed,

2:22.4

oh no, you're not. I marched around the apartment turning on every light and making a stand in every

2:28.2

room. And then I got tired and went back to bed. There were no more utterances from the unseen,

2:35.0

and that was the last of the tapping. I lived there for another year.
