Have you ever had one of those really interesting conversations where the person you were talking

to was just so fascinating that you wish it didn't have to end.

Well, I had a conversation like that last year for this podcast.

Normally I speak with guests about history, but Flora Frazier and I had a chance to talk about

biography and in doing so she told me what it was like to grow up as the daughter and

granddaughter of two famed British biographers and Flora just knows a lot about the genre of biography and how

it developed in the United Kingdom.

Now I interviewed Flora for episode 2009, the first episode in the Doing History biography

series.

That series really allowed us to explore the genre of biography and how the genre of biography

relates to and is different from the genre of history.

Plus, we also explored how historians and biographers can best

uncover and understand the lives of people from the past. Well I thought this was a

really interesting conversation and it was really unfortunate that Flora and I got to talk for nearly an hour and I could only use about 20 minutes of the conversation in episode 2009.

So I saved our full conversation hoping that one day I'd have an opportunity to share it with you.
