Hello and welcome again back for another edition of Irrigiosophy and this week we have actually conned Michael Dowd to come

on to our show and have a slight discussion with us.

Yeah, this is interesting.

You're a Reverend, right Michael?

Yeah, I was ordained and in the United Church of Christ

back in 1990, and I ended up pasturing three churches

over the course of a decade.

That's fascinating.

And now you actually go around preaching evolution and religion

together kind of combining them. Well no definitely not combining them I

preach and teach evolution, our best scientific

understanding of evolution and I show how a mainstream evidential worldview

based on science can enrich and strengthen and deepen people's faith of whatever faith background.

And when I mean my faith isn't beliefs, I mean trust.

So basically, yeah, I'm helping religious people celebrate evolution.

Well, that's very interesting.

Well, why do we start out by having you introduce yourself, give us a little bit of your

background, your scholarly history, that sort of thing?

Sure.

Okay, Michael Loud was raised a Roman Catholic, had a born again experience to my teenage years

because I was struggling a lot of drugs and alcohol and sexual issues.

It was involved for several years in an assemblies of God, Pentecostal context.
