This is the Baymaw Podcast with Marty Solomon. I'm his co-host, Brent Billings. Today we are

0:10.7

considering the implications of the story of the Tabernacle in our own pursuits of God. And today we

0:16.6

don't have a particular text outside of the story of the Tabernacle itself. It's somewhat of a

0:20.7

continuation of what we covered in our last episode. But it's more of a study in spiritual practices.

0:26.5

If we do have a presentation that goes along with the topic, so you'll find a link to that in

0:30.8

the show notes and you can follow along as Marty teaches us how to practice our spirituality.

0:38.3

Yeah, so we're going to dive deeper into this idea, the story of the Tabernacle. This story for me sets

0:43.6

up a larger conversation that I've always, I just love teaching this lesson to my students. And

0:51.0

this, I feel like this lesson impacts their lives, particularly college students and their lives

0:57.2

more than really many other disciplines, any other lesson, excuse me, that I teach. So really

1:05.4

just love this one. So we kind of left off this discussion of the Tabernacle. We'll talk about how

1:10.2

1:16.6

because that's a staple of ours, right? Yeah, what do you mean Genesis 1? What's the big deal?

1:21.4

Why do we need a mobile Genesis 1? Because that's where the story starts, right? So we've talked about

1:25.9

Genesis. Making sure we start in the beginning. And starting in the beginning is really important.

1:30.7

So at the beginning, God says that creation is good and invites creation to trust that, particularly

1:36.1

mankind. And I don't know if warning is the right word, but kind of the warning God gives us if

1:42.5

you don't trust, if he tells Cain this, if you don't trust, if you don't do what's right,

1:47.2

if you don't believe that creation is good, you're going to try to find that fulfillment somewhere else.

1:51.7

And you're going to take it from other people and you're going to do really stupid things because

1:54.5

you're going to live out of fear and security and self-preservation. And so he's trying to teach,

1:59.9

he's trying to frame, he's trying to give us a new way to view the world, a counter narrative,
