Hello and we are going to the last symposium. Today I'm joined by Bo and Josh.

Hello. Thank you for joining me and we are going to talk about John Locke and his philosophy,

but also we're going to talk about the series and the episodes that we have recorded

and released and we're going to reminisce some of the good times. I don't think there were bad times,

so we're just going to focus on the good

highlights. Right so I want to say that I think Locke is a very fascinating

figure and agree with him or disagree with, is one of the intellectual giants of human history,

and there is no denying that.

So he is considered to be the father of empiricism, of British empiricism, and also the father of classical

liberalism. And whether you agree with these or not, these are achievements. And he was also sort of a very big mind he was a sort of homo universalis

he had very wide education he was incredibly well educated he was educated at Oxford. He was mostly an

autodidact. People say this as if it's something new, but I think in most

universities most of the greatest minds have taught themselves because the best thing that the universities give you is time to pursue your intellectual interests.

You can't really be a polymath without pursuing lots of things on your own terms right yes

people don't say oh yeah being I know da Vinci you know he was you know he taught himself

some stuff oh that makes him bad yeah exactly it's not like he walked somewhere they opened his head and put all the ideas in.

Bo, I'm sure you know because you've done also some epox now about Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.

Yeah, right.

Yeah, so.

Yeah, I mean, everyone is an auto-dide act in a way, other than sitting there in a lecture,

getting all your info from a lecture, then anything... than anything extra to that

extra to that will be sort of self-taught.
