Hey, welcome to another episode of the black outtaste podcast. I'm your host, Rod.

Doing this always on my co-host hearing and we are alive on a Sunday at noon,

one minute afternoon actually. So it's in the afternoon and we have a guest.

First time guest on the podcast, but I feel like we kind of know her via social media

and all the like spaces that we share.

You may know her as a co-host of the bad and boozy podcast.

It's Deasia and she is here to promote the 13th annual Marion House 5K race,

which is being held September 18th at Baltimore's Lake Montabello,

which sounds super fancy. There's also a virtual race option for people to participate

who aren't local. Deasia, how you doing?

I am doing good. De-Deasia is fine. I use Deasia on the podcast.

It sounded cool to have a podcast name.

I feel like that's how everybody starts with podcasting or maybe that's not all black people start

because it's like it's like one, am I going to do this forever?

Two, what am I going to say? Do I want my government associated with what I'm about to say?

In real life, nobody calls me Demetri, so it just sounds like too formal.

I was like, I need a name.

I feel like when we started the show, we were a Rod and Miss Prime and say that again for about a year.

We were just like, I don't know what's going to happen with this.

This could go down to the annals of time.

It works because people call me De, anyway, so I use Deasia, but most people just shorten it and say that.
