Last time we heard about the conservative religious reaction and the stool under Cromwell's

feet wobbled and the noose that lay around every two depotitions neck slung over the roof

beam of state tightened alarmingly. But we can leave all that to a future episode because

this week I think we should go back a step because we've not heard about all that other

stuff that went on in the 1530s to do with Cromwell and Henry's governance of the realm

during that decade and let me tell you there is some very cool stuff. So over the next

two episodes we're going to talk about how Henry and Cromwell managed Henry's kingdom

and some of the fundamental changes Cromwell engineered along the way. Now this means we're
