It's true. People will tell you, and I've heard this many, many times that you can't love somebody unless you agree with them.

Like, unless I agree, I don't, I can't love you.

Like, man, that's such a thin idea of love.

Mm-hmm.

Because Jesus is telling us to love our enemies.

Mm-hmm.

And then, you know, we recognize this this week of all weeks then he's on a cross and he's not up there

saying i agree with this i agree with what you're doing but he's saying father forgive them they

don't know what they're doing like there's a love that is much wilder and deeper than just agreement

there's a there's a love that is almost hard to get your head around, but that's

the love that we see on the cross. It's not one of agreement. It's one of, no, this is not right,

and I forgive you anyway. I just think about people like welcoming Jesus back into Jerusalem,

just that he's the king. And then they mocked him

as the king of the Jews, the people in power. It was a mockery. But he really is the king,

the king of kings. And it's such great news because his kingdom doesn't work like anything else.

It's good news that he's king.

It's good news for the poor and the powerless.

It's good news for the people who aren't important.

They're not at the top of the heap because his kingdom isn't ruled by power or status.

This is the kingdom that he was introducing by love.
