weekly ADHD experts broadcast. Welcome. Today we'll be talking to Dr. Thomas Brown about how to best diagnose attention deficit disorder.

Many of us have been told that an accurate ADHD diagnosis requires a full battery of neuropsychological testing, even brain imaging. this

requires a full battery of neuropsychological testing, even brain imaging, and or computerized tests to measure attention.

Dr Brown will be talking to this day disagrees and he'll tell us

how families can save time and money and get more accurate

testing by knowing which tests are valuable to assess the symptoms of ADHD and

which ones aren't. For those of you who don't know Dr. Brown, let me tell you that he is a renowned clinical

psychologist who received his PhD from Yale and is the director of the Brown Clinic

for Intention and Related Disorders in Manhattan Beach, California, where he specializes in the assessment

in the treatment of high- IQ children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD and

related problems. He holds an appointment at the Keck School of Medicine

at the University of Southern California

and is an elected fellow of the American Psychological Association.

He has published over 30 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles

and five really terrific books on ADHD that I really

want to recommend to our listeners.
