So they just did this big test with chat GPT, and they had like over a thousand people who asked advice questions.

They split them up into groups where half of them would get response from sycophantic chat gpt.

So it's like, yeah, everything you say is right.

Just affirm everything.

Right.

And then the other one got less that way.

It was more realistic.

Mm-hmm. They found out that the sycophantic group became measurably less willing to apologize to other people. Less willing to compromise. Because they're just told you're right. Less willing to see the other person's side. because the AI, I'm reading here,

validated their worst instincts and they walked away more selfish

though. Participants rated the sycophantic AI as higher quality. They trusted it more. They

wanted to use it again. The AI that made them worse people felt like a better product. Wow. Yeah. So we love

being affirmed. And then we don't apologize and we don't. And like, yeah, we just love cheering

for ourselves. That's a trap that it's so human to follow them, but we can. This is, if somebody wants to follow Jesus, you have to be in this mode of, I could be

wrong, repentance.
