So I am recording in a hotel room in Chicago, just finished doing wait, wait.

The heat.

I don't know how many hotels you've stayed in, but one of the things about hotels is turning on, off and controlling heating and air conditioning systems. Never simple. Turned it off, as you can hear, it's still on. So sorry about the background noise. Also, I'm recording on my new MacBook Air. Yeah, it was time for me to upgrade. My other computer was five years old,

which in computer time is ancient. So I got this new MacBook Air. It's beautiful. It does a bunch of

things I don't know how to do, but it doesn't do something I needed to do, which is use garage band,

which is what I normally record on. I keep getting a message that the app's not responding.

Don't know what that means. You shut it down. You turn it on. You just force quit, force, quit.

So I don't know. I don't know. So anyway, I'm recording on my quick time player, and I hope this

works, and I hope I'm able to send this out. I don't know. This podcast may die on my new MacBook air. Um, what's going on?

Man, rain in L.A. Not news anywhere else. In L.A. rain is news. A friend of mine from London said

she was tired of L.A. rain. I said, you're from London. You're used to the rain. She said,

well, back home, we don't get the years rain in one week. Here's my problem with the rain. As you may or may not know, I bought a house last year. If I ever buy another house, and I don't know if I'll ever buy another house, but if I ever buy another house, I'm buying it in the rain. There's just, That's when you see the problem. So I got this weird

mud flow into my driveway, which I had already planned to address by changing the hardscaping in

front of the house. It has to do with how the drainage is and a retaining wall that wasn't long

enough. So I'm getting that fixed.

Yes, a couple of days ago, I'm in my office.

I hear tick, tick, tick, tick.

Turns out it's water dripping, water dripping from the ceiling of the office.

Now here's the funny thing.

The office is on the first floor.
