An arena is a living organism if you can see it the right way.

It morphs the way people are feeling, the way people are reacting,

what's going on with the team, different stuff, and you have to be in tune to that.

So I'm watching everything that goes on.

electric. D.J. Derek.

The guy that was overmarketing, he heard the different genres I was mixing in between, you know my style.

He came up and said, we need to bring this in to the

razorback games. Once they got the feedback and saw the difference in the

atmosphere they were like okay we'll see you again next week. His unique style

landed him a gig as the DJ for Arkansas sporting events,

but it's his passion for mixing that's kept him there.

My father owned a nightclub, so I grew up around nothing but the equipment the music I used to beg him just to drop me off over there and just leave me for the day and I'll just be in there just playing around and in heaven

When Derek first started with the razorbacks, an in-game DJ and college sports was

unheard of.

Now it's the standard.

I started the DJ's in the arenas for college sports. You look at other arenas and

stuff you notice it's a carbon copy like they watch what we do here and then

they copy it and do it there.
