Welcome to the plodcast. I'm Douglas Wilson. This is episode 236. The

plodcast, Douglas Wilson, 236. I said that twice in case you wandered into the wrong place. So I wanted to talk a little bit about

the influence of Gary North on my thinking. The reason for this is Gary North just went to be with the Lord a few weeks ago and I was recently asked on a

asked Doug thing about his influence on me and I so I looked I went and looked it up in a I've got a book reading log that I keep and I think it was I forget the exact number but I think it was something like 17 books

I read I read and profited by

17 books that Gary North wrote.

And he was an interesting writer.

You didn't get bored.

You didn't doze off when you're reading Gary North.

He was a handful, right?

So this happened.

I'll give you a little autographical treatment here. I wound up as the pastor of a church in the late 70s. So about

1977 I found myself pastering a church. And I was still in college at the time. I

done my stint in the Navy. I was going through college. Found myself the pastor of a little Jesus

people kind of operation.

And I was finished with my studies in 1979.

So I spent a summer, took a few classes

at Regent Seminary in Vancouver in the summer 79, came back to

Moscow and resumed teaching in the church that I had found myself a pastor of while I was still in school.
