Summary

This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal we welcome Variety's 2018 Manager of the Year Dre London to the Upper West Side! In this wide-ranging and personal conversation, we discuss everything from becoming a trusted member of French Montana and Max B's inner circle a decade ago to helping guide Post Malone into uncharted streaming territory throughout 2018, the aftermath of being kicked out of high school in South London at age 15, hustling to get by, moving to the United States with no connections and no green card, leading with his gut instincts, studying the game, moving to Los Angeles, meeting a young, video-gaming, super-talented genreless musician and joining him on a ride that has them currently selling out arenas, and for the first time, talking about what it was like in the troubled private plane with Post on their way to England, when they had to prepare for the worst. All that and so much more in this very inspirational and very funny episode! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. Learn more about your ad choices. Hey Jeff. Hey Eric. How are you? I'm pretty good. How are you? Doing well, thank you. I'm not sure if this is the last episode of 2018 or the first episode of 2019. Why can't it be both? It can be both. But regardless, it's been a pretty stellar year for us. And in a year of just moments on moments, on moments, what is your

proudest achievement of the last 365 days? Ooh. All right, I'm just going to, I'm going to, I'm going to,

0:34.7

I'm going to, who wants to be a millionaire this? So I'm going to talk through my thoughts.

0:37.8

Okay.

I thought you were going to phone a friend.

Well, I'd like to.

0:40.5

Okay.

0:41.3

But it's New Year's Eve.

0:42.6

Yeah, which friend?

0:43.8

Who would I call?

0:45.8

To tell me what my biggest achievement one is.

0:48.2

Right.

0:48.3

I mean, I call you.

0:49.0

Yeah, well, all right. Yeah. Do you want to do that on the podcast right now? Yeah. Yeah.

Hello?

1:04.5

Anyway. All right. My biggest achievements of the year, I mean, I'm really proud of the fact that it feels like we're really hitting our stride now. Yeah. I think that after three years of hard work, our fourth year has been our best year. We've seen... And by the way, that's just the podcast. That's not to mention the prior seven years of work that we put in. No, but I mean, like, honestly, the first thought I had was the book. Book was a great one. I would say two Jews and two Black Jews, but technically that's last year. It's still a great idea and great execution. Great moments. Like I said, did we talk about it in this podcast? Did we talk about it here? Did we talk about it just on Twitter? I said, like, one of the coolest things is that Jada kiss actually calls us by our names. Very cool. Here's some other ones.

We've had The Dream up here. We've had Swiss Beats up here. We had our best friend, Marsha St. Hubert, up here. We've had hundreds of people come through and sit down and... And not steal anything from our apartment. Yeah, that's a big, big achievement. That's a huge achievement. But here's what I'm most proud of. I'm most proud of the fact that we have

cultivated a community in ways that we haven't in many other years where people are invested

2:10.5

in not just us, but this thing. And this, yeah, this thing. It's the people who reach out and let us know that the roots are playing our music on the

2:24.3

Tonight Show.

2:25.3

That's people who have sent gifts in the mail.

2:27.3

I'm talking about clothes.
