What was that?

Most of the excitement this week was watching the news come out that they just hadn't sold any tickets.

They got people to travel halfway across the country or entirely across the country to attend

the Perth events when it was Duplessi versus Adesania,

or Makachev versus Volkinovsky.

But they didn't reckon with the notion that people might have cared who was fighting,

and apparently more than half of these tickets weren't sold

and were heavily, heavily marked down by the time of the fights.

If you don't know, Perth is a billion

miles away from everything else in Australia. So people going to those previous events, that was a

commitment. That was them doing something because they loved the sport and they loved the

matchups. People don't just go there to watch shite. And if all you're bringing three ranked fighters on this card,

and I'm going to say only two, because you won't even know who the third one is, is Loma Luke Boonme.

And that was the first fight of the night.

And to be fair, fair play to the hardcores in Perth, because there were some people in there at 7 a.m. local time, already had a few cans,

cheering on a fairly uneventful women's strawweight fight between Loma Loughbun Me and the new lass

who's actually quite good, Alexia Tynera. And it's even funnier because they went up against the AFL, the Australian Football

League final, the same weekend, which all Aussies are mad about. And it's even funnier because

Western Australia, the government of Western Australia, pays the UFC millions to bring this shite

...
