according to the three-year electionary, where Jesus says he will build his church upon the rock,

the rock being, of course, the confession of Jesus as Christ the Son of God and ultimately

How do we transition? It seems a little abrupt from the inclusion of the Gentiles this

last Sunday to the confession and actually kind of a truncated version of the confession of

Saint Peter this Sunday. Yeah, that's a good question. So yeah, remember last Sunday,

we were talking especially about the inclusion of the Gentiles, but now we're going to pass over

a little section in Matthew, which unfortunately really misses, I think, the connection that's there,
