He's an assistant professor of 20th and 21st century literature at Marquette University in Milwaukee,

Wisconsin,

and he's also a co-editor

at the Academic Journal's Extrapolation

and Science Fiction film and Television.

He's also co-edited two critical anthologies

on Science Fiction, the Cambridge Companion to American Science Fiction, which he co-edited

with Eric Carl Link, and Green Planets, Ecology and Science Fiction, which he co-edited with

Kim Stanley Robinson.

And we'll be speaking with him today about his new book, Octavia E Butler,

the latest volume in the Modern Masters of Science Fiction series from the University of Illinois

press.
