0:24.6	basically about Bill Gothard and his cultist teachings. So I've just talked
0:28.6	with Don Vino and Ron Henzel who wrote this book about 20 years, but it just had an update with a new forward by Ginger Dugger Voolo.
0:36.6	Now, many of you may recognize that name because I did a podcast episode with Ginger and
0:41.7	Melissa Doherty, where we talked through her story of coming out of the
0:45.6	unbiblical teachings of Bill Gothard. Now the Bill Gothard teachings have been very influential
0:51.6	in evangelical culture for the last few decades and so
0:55.2	this is an important episode for us to understand maybe how those have infiltrated
0:59.1	the church and how we can spot them and I loved all the practical things we talked about.

1:06.8	was when Ron talked about how sometimes cults
1:10.6	have evangelical statements of belief, and that can be very disarming for Christians who think oh they're checking the right boxes doctrinally but then there's this authoritarian side
1:19.8	and there can be high control and things like that so So we talked through that, we talked through the pillars
1:24.6	of the Bill Gothard teachings and how that has really infiltrated
1:27.5	a lot of Christian homes and churches
1:29.5	through homes school curriculums.
1:31.2	And we talked about the continued influence of Bill Gothard
1:34.0	and his teachings and what we can be looking out for. So this is an important
