Summary

When it comes to this episode, I will not speak any of these words as some kind of social or racial justice expert. But I’m learning and want to keep learning, and based on the communication I’ve gotten from so many of you in recent months, you feel the same way. So today, I want to share with you three small things that have made a big difference in my own process that I’m asking you to do over the next few weeks.

Hi there! You're listening to the Lazy Genius Podcast. I'm Kendra Hadachi and I'm

0:06.8

here to help you be a genius about the things that matter and lazy about the

0:10.3

things that don't. Today is episode 233. Three things to continue racial

0:16.5

peacemaking. I would like to acknowledge something that might be obvious but is

0:20.7

also very important for this episode. I'm a white woman. My experience as a

0:25.7

person in North Carolina where I've lived my entire life is as a white woman. I'm

woman. Even growing up poor the system still benefited me because I was white.

country more equitable and replacing harmful systems with more loving and

0:58.2

just ones. But I think until people with privilege like me acknowledge that they

1:03.2

have that privilege it's gonna take us longer to get there. So when it comes to

1:07.0

this episode I will not speak any of these words as some kind of social or

1:11.7

racial justice expert. I am not one. In fact I feel a lot of nerves speaking

1:17.1

into this at all because I'm not an expert. But I'm learning and I want to

1:21.9

keep learning and based on the communication I've gotten from so many of you in

1:25.2

recent months you feel the same way. Now first I want to share just a quick

1:30.5

word about how this episode came to be. So my team was talking about episode

1:35.2

ideas you know and Latoya our lazy genius community manager and a black

1:40.0

woman suggested that I do something about anti-racism. She observed that while
