you good I'm kind of excited about this show. We have our friend Jason

Snell back on the show. Welcome to the show Jason. Thanks. It's great to be

back. Well you're back in a new role, aren't you? I suppose I am.

Everything is different now.

Well, you know, Katie and I are both people like you used to be who gets up every day, goes to work, and then has this side thing we're doing.

And the side thing keeps getting bigger and bigger and

you know with the things going on over at IDG and you know at Macworld you have

been cut free into the world.

Yeah, this is true.

This is true.

I mean, I was planning on leaving and then, and my employers knew that I was unhappy

with the direction things were going. then there was a big layoff was impending.

And so I didn't get to control the timing of my departure, but in exchange for that I actually got a little care and feeding for my departure, which I'm appreciative

of because they knew I wasn't going to want to stay if they delayed off more people.

And so it was something I was going to do and had been trying to do for a while and in the end I didn't

get to choose the time and unfortunately it happened in pretty awful circumstances

for a lot of my colleagues.

But yeah, but I had been laying the groundwork.

In fact, the last time I was on this show was the first time I had recorded a podcast from

my garage and it was one of the reasons I did that was I was trying to imagine
