May 2020, Bronson, New York, police would be called to the Forest House apartment complex.

Inside the apartment, they would find an unresponsive and beaten child.

Two other children were found in the apartment, also showing obvious signs of abuse and

neglect. The children's

mother would be quickly arrested and questioned, but what happened here and why? This is Jolaya's

story. Community members and tenants of this building at Forest Houses released balloons

Monday afternoon in honor of six-year-old Jalaya Eason.

Police say the child's mother called 911 Friday morning just before 4 a.m.

When they arrived, they found the little girl unresponsive with bruising on her wrists and torso.

She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Jalaya Eason was born February 24, 2017 in New York, to parents Leani, Isan, Kuma and Ronald Branch.

Jolaya would be the middle child born to the couple with an older brother and younger sister.

Unfortunately, Eason and Ronald's relationship wouldn't last and they would split while Jalea was only a toddler.
