Hello everyone and welcome to the History of England, episode 230, the execution of Anne

0:16.0

Bellin. Just to remind you that I am a proud member of the Agorra Podcast Network, we

0:28.0

have a series of podcasts out now celebrating the Reformation. How appropriate is that? Given

0:33.6

that the great man posted his 95 Theses on the… well, he posted them somewhere pretty close

0:40.3

to exactly 500 years ago. So just search for the Agorra Podcast Network through your normal

0:46.7

podcastery Dubri thing. Now then, before I go on about the Schmorgers Board of Delights and all

0:53.7

you should know that I have now posted a second quiz on the website, thehistoryofingland.co.uk,

0:59.1

1:17.0

quiz, all about Queen Anne. You might want to wait until the end of this week's episodes,

1:22.5

1:29.0

today's episode on the dramatic events, a 1535 and 36, and then incredibly, yes, incredibly,

1:36.0

there's more. No, no, no, don't thank me. In three days time, we have Claire Ridgeway,

1:41.9

creator of the really rather astounding Anbelin Files website, and multiple books on Anne and the

1:47.8

Tudors. Claire is going to talk about who killed Anbelin. Why was Anne executed? What are the theories?

1:56.2

Was she the victim of political infighting? Or did Henry decide he just wanted shot of her?

2:00.8

Or was she, in fact, guilty as charged? And look, Claire should know. She's written a book on the

2:06.8

subject called The Fall of Anne-Belin, which is actually one of the prizes for the scandal of

2:12.0

Christendom pole, which starts next weekend, wherein we consider our debating question.

2:17.4

So that's all great. But then this week, we have a second thing for members only.

2:22.4

If you are a member, you get to have a vote on why Anne was executed. This is not, repeat not,
