either way, thanks for being here. It's honored to be here, honored to stand here at Colorado

Christian Christian University for the first time. It has been years in the making and it's an

honor to be here. Thank you for championing my book on reading for so many years. I wrote that book

to hopefully influence homeschooling and I think it did that and then it's reached into the college

Christian campuses as well, which is blesses my heart. I was going to talk about 12 lessons I've

learned about reading and the more I thought about it, I amped that up to 23 lessons I've learned

about reading serious books for 23 years. We're going to be here to tell, oh, it'll be early

afternoon before we're done. I'll speed it up. We'll be done in good time and then we'll do Q&A

so you can ask me hard questions. This is very rare that I'm on this side of the microphone with

questions. I'm usually just posing hard questions to John Piper and that's actually a pretty fun

gig, you know, because I'm just listening to the audience emails come in and be like, oh, that's

a good one. Oh, can't wait to serve that up to John Piper and so it's just, it's kind of a hobby

of mine to try and stomp John Piper and it hasn't really happened yet but I'm sure one day it will.

Yeah, I lit Christian guided reading books my very first book that I wrote. I think it's about

10 years old now. Those copies were put out there by the generous generosity of Desiring Guys

Ministry Partners. So Desiring Guys said, hey, we want to make sure that everyone of the staff

and faculty has a copy of the book. So it's there and most of what I have to say is in that book,

okay? So if you were going to take copious notes, it's there. It's there for you already in the book,

so you don't have to do that. So yeah, yeah. Well, the distinguished biographer, David McCullough,
