talk about your choice of Beatle album, which has already proved to be highly controversial,

which I never anticipated, but we'll come to that. No. When did you first discover the Beatles

and what did they mean to you? Do you know, my parents were children of the 60s,

but they never really got into the Beatles.

My mum was kind of art school.

So she was all about jazz and classical music.

And my dad was the same.

So it certainly didn't really come from my parents.

I know we had, you know, an old original LP of Sergeant Pepper in the house,

but nobody really listened to it.

And it was only when I got about to the age of 12, I would say.

And my best friend, Vanessa, who I had known all my life from the minute I was born because

our parents were best friends and she came to visit me in hospital, you know, literally the moment I

breathed my first breath. So she was there throughout my life and at some stage I remember going

to her house and she'd moved away and she always was a little bit more kind of sophisticated
