Hello everyone, thank you for having me back.

We're so excited to have you, especially because this episode will air on July 4th.

Oh, happy Independence Day, everyone.

Okay, so we're going to get into chapter 15 villainous business of

Chernau and we're going to talk about all the celebrate ham events that the

Aha Society has going on this summer because there's a ton of stuff to talk about but right before we

recorded Nicole dropped a little historical bomb on us about July 4th isn't

Independence Day what's going on there? well I guess if you want to really

get into it you could say our independence day was when Britain signed the peace

treaty but Congress actually voted for independence on July 2nd.

It was just that the paperwork was signed two days later on July 4th,

so that's why you see the big July 4th on the document.

And so people just started using that date instead, but our actual declaration of independence and the vote that Congress took was on July 2nd.

Wow.

And they all, and Nicole correct me if I'm wrong, I think they all sort of trickled in over the intervening days, right?

And not everybody was in the room at the same time to sign the document.

Oh, right.

Yes. So in fact, I believe on July 4th, only the secretary and the president signed the document and then most of the delegates

signed on August 2nd a month later and even then people were still adding their names over the remaining months as well.
