Hello and welcome to my episode 227 of Real Life Ghost Stories, and I have three

0:29.8

spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from the 27th of October 2022 and

0:35.3

story number one comes from Gemma. I've just listened to episode 10 and had to email

0:41.2

you. I had a more or less identical experience, I was so overwhelmed when I was listening

0:47.3

that I just started crying. My mom was killed by a drunk driver when I was five years old.

0:53.6

It was almost Christmas. She was on a Christmas do with her then-husband, not my dad and

0:58.7

some friends. She was hit by a drunk driver while waiting to cross the road and was killed

1:04.3

almost instantly. Now I'm almost 40 so I don't remember specifically when this happened

like it but it stayed with me forever. First of all I just want to say that I always feel

1:38.1

really, I don't know, weirdly proud or happy that people listen to episodes of the podcast

1:44.4

and they can resonate with something that has happened to somebody. If that's not a reason

1:48.2

to do the podcast then I don't know what is. I'm so glad that people can listen and be

1:53.4

I can share my story with all of these listeners and I know that other people have experienced

2:00.0

the same thing and I know that I'm not going to be ridiculed for it because you're not

2:03.7

ever going to be ridiculed for it on this podcast. It's not going to happen. I am so glad

2:08.2

that your mom was able to find a way to reconnect with you even if it was just for that

2:14.0

brief moment where she just turned up on the end of your bed. And if this podcast has

2:19.8

taught me anything it's that these things happen to people all the time when they lose
