So when I go to Portugal, I discovered that I am a black girl because people point that out to me because I didn't have this perception that you are white, I am black, you know, for me, just you are other person, but there are things like I have a different hair, my hair doesn't move like the other girls, I am darker. People treat me different because of that.

And being a small girl and starting to realize it's such a disappointment for a small girl to realize that, oh, okay, so my skin is determining the way you look at me.

And really having this thought of,

oh my god, I'm black, like what is this?

What does that mean to me?

My name is Erica, like it's an international name,
