I'm your host Heather Ashley, and today's case is out of Geneva, Illinois.

On Sunday, July 6, 2014, at around 6.39 a.m.,

a train was running its scheduled route through Geneva, Illinois,

when the conductor spotted someone lying awkwardly on the tracks ahead.

He blew the horn, hoping it might startle the person,

and they would move out of the way, but the person didn't move at all.

Not wanting to hit whoever it was, the conductor had no choice but to initiate an emergency stop.

Once the train came to a halt, he got out to try and figure out what was going on,

but as he got closer to the person, he realized it was a woman laying on her left side

with her head and neck perfectly positioned on the tracks.

There was a blank stare in her eyes and a blue discoloration around her mouth,

and it was at that moment that the conductor knew he needed to call 911.
