Oh, welcome to Ask the UCB this week with Maddie B.

Not even breaking down improv per se this week, but following up on a lot of kind email

from humans, fans of I4H, and also a good wrap up to a cool, ask me anything I did on

the earwolf Reddit organized by Slainer, Kudos to Slainer, for being a top-rate human and

supporting improper humans in so many ways, and everybody on the earwolf Reddit for that matter.

But let's dive in here. I got a follow-up to another Ask the UCB episode when I read the letter of

a sister of a guy one to move to LA, and she was like, is attending his, I'm paraphrasing,

but basically is attending your school, the UCB school going to guarantee his success and

comedy I responded to that. In short, the answer was no, it won't, but it'll give him some good

tools. So he heard that episode, and he responded, I'll read parts of it. I live in Iowa,

my sister Becky emailed you last year, when emailing me left episode, instead wanted to take

the time to tell you, I took the advice you gave me. Last year was amazing, I did improv 101,

I drove to LA for Iowa for two week intensive. Tony Charlene was my teacher, she was great,

I'm paraphrasing the last stuff here, but I went in with three years, a short form experience,

in about six months along, form experience, belonging from scratch from Tony was exactly what I needed.

The connections I made in class turned out to be the best thing, there's a screenwriter in class,

who's since written a horror movie with a role in it for me. Wow, we're shooting in Washington

December, very exciting. He returned to Iowa with his long form group, Tony kept coaching via Skype,

that's the thing a lot of people are doing now, sounds cool. Since then, the chowdown show has

grown every month, we start with the dozen or so friends, now we pack the place with strangers,

and it's great. There you go, he's in a sketch group called the Dog and Pony show,

they do original sketches, eight different shows last two years, he goes on to say some other stuff,
