Last episode looked at some of the planning and preparations being done in Britain to prepare

for a possible German invasion.

One of the major concerns shared by British leaders was the fear of a German airborne invasion.

This would include an emphasis that was placed on the Home Guard during early May and June,

that much ridiculed

body of civilian volunteers who would organize all over Britain during the summer months,

with the goal of, well, that would depend on who you asked.

While the Home Guard was being organized, for the British Army, the focus was still on

preparing military units to face an invasion,

and a critical part of those preparations were the mobile units that would be called upon
