Okay, folks, you are listening to the latest chapter, the latest adventure, the latest adventure, the latest reminisces of life on planet Porky, with myself the portmister, and of course the Rocket Chick-Chic writer extraordinaire, Ms. Leslie Ann Jones. And Leslie Ann, we're well into

autumn now. I've been out collecting my conkers, and that's not a euphemism. I like to keep

0:46.8

them round that out. Just in case anybody was wondering. Yeah, just in case anybody was wondering,

0:50.3

yeah. But I do love this autumn weather, honestly. I think it's, I mean,

0:54.4

it's been quite extraordinary, by the way, that's a couple of days. I woke up in the middle of the

0:58.3

night yesterday, or last night, or night before, because the rain was battering down so hard on

1:04.4

my V-Lux windows. It was like a drumbeat, and I thought, I thought somebody was coming up the road. You know, I thought the army had arrived.

drain grids. They're not being cleaned out regularly enough, so they can't cope with that

1:33.4

influx of water when there is a sudden downpour. And so the streets flood. I don't know why

1:39.2

they don't just come along and suck the drains out. Well, I don't know. I don't do a lot of things these days.

1:44.9

A lot of flooding in the country is down to the fact that we don't ditch fields anymore, you know,

1:49.3

and we've taken all the hedges away that soak up water and all that kind of stuff.

1:52.4

But look, that's for the ecologists to sort out. Meanwhile, we've got to deal with today problems.

1:58.7

Now, Ms. Jones, I know you've been to a memorial service this week for an old

2:03.4

Fleet Street colleague. And when I say that, I never talk about memorial services from old colleagues

2:09.9

in a maudling fashion. I always talk about them with joy and celebration because it really is a
