0:00.0	I got an agent right away and as soon as I started getting put onto the audition circuit with
0:08.2	casting directors I was immediately told that I needed to lose weight.
0:12.5	And those conversations, those reflections of like
0:15.8	casting directors literally telling me
0:17.6	I needed to lose 25 pounds if I ever wanted to be an actress,
0:20.8	sent me deep on a body dysmorphic, orthorexia, sometimes, and purging,
0:25.9	binging the whole thing. For about eight years, I lost so much weight I didn't get my
0:31.5	period for two years years because I was so
0:33.6	underweight and meanwhile I was hustling the acting life waitressing nannying
0:40.2	temp jobbing you know trying to make it as an artist.
0:43.0	I fell in love with a much older man in my 20s and went into a deeply addictive,
0:47.8	co-dependent relationship and it wasn't until my late 20s that I got the spark to start my own business which I didn't even
0:55.1	really know I was becoming an entrepreneur at the time. I just really loved food, fashion.
0:59.8	I love writing. I've always been a writer at heart even more so I think than an actor.
1:04.6	And I got this download to start an online food and fashion blog for the women of the city of Chicago.
1:11.6	And it was like within a minute of you know that download I basically
1:16.3	quit acting I quit the boyfriend that was very painful and started sort of this was
1:21.2	around age 28 to 30 and said goodbye to acting never looked back.
