Topic today is duty. Each of us has a God-given post, a calling, or assignment,

and each of these comes with a host of duties. Whether you are a daughter, a mother, a wife, a student, a teacher, or a

grandmother, each calling has its own duties. Not only that, but then each individual has unique circumstances and associated duties, and beneath

these central duties are subcategories of duties.

I doubt any one of us could possibly list all of our duties.

Because really all of us, when you're a customer, you have customer duties.

When you're driving, you have driver duties.

When you're a parent? You have parent duties duties when you're a parent you have parent duties if you're sick and in the

doctor's office you're a patient you have patient duties if we were locked in a cell we

would have duties there as well. In everything we do throughout every day we have

duties and we have obligations that we must view in the light of our central duty of

following Christ. So we start by understanding that these duties we have

are assigned to us specifically to each one of us by God himself.

And so we can see them as a means of pleasing him

and serving him and obeying him for our own good.

And for that we can be very thankful.

Just think how it is when you have nothing to do,
