All right, here we go. Welcome in everyone to this week's edition of the deer hunter podcast

friday the 12th of november just a few days away from michigan's opening day of firearm

deer season.

This week, what we're going to do is recap my hunt from last weekend.

I have a story to share that involves a large, mature deer on a first time in sit on public land and a blood trail into the interiors deep into a swamp that I have never been in before.

A little bit of ill preparation on my part. We'll discuss that.

I made some, I did a lot of things right this past weekend.

Like, I did a lot of things right that in the past I haven't done right, that put me in a situation.

And unfortunately, I did not ultimately capitalize on. There's a lot to unpack here. Oh, boy, what an emotional roller coaster this whole endeavor was. So as I'm recording this, it is Tuesday, the 9th. You'll be listening to this. I have this set to publish on Friday. I'm hopeful many of you are en route to your northern Michigan deer camps. I honestly, I don't know the opening day of the firearm seasons or around the other states. I can barely keep my rules and regulations together in my own state at the pace that I move. So anybody else that's going in,

got their firearm seasons open, opening, and you're looking forward to that, we are here

very much. Man, we're going to have some fun podcasts that are going to come out

of this deer camp there's going to be a lot going on here over the course of the next week and

I say week because I have a week I am departing tomorrow I am departing on Wednesday

right after work there's gear scattered about here right now.

There's lists, things getting checked off of list, things getting put on list, a lot of gear going together, rain gear, cold weather.

I'm going to have everywhere from 50 to 20 everything in between rain sleet snow

south winds west winds east winds north winds northwest northwest I'm thankful for that

there's a lot of north and northwest in the forecast for this coming week and the

temperatures and the weather looks outstanding.
