I have a favorite pen. I don't know if you do, but somebody comes along and they're like,

oh, you've got the BIC, whatever, and try this gel, whatever, whatever. And I'm like, oh, yeah.

Okay. I'm like, this is my new favorite. It's wild. I was reading this book called Being Wrong

by Kathleen Schultz. She's a scholar, but she said, that's so interesting. We are much more willing to entertain the possibility we're wrong about insignificant matters than about weighty ones. So when it comes to like a pen, oh yeah, sure, I can change my mind. When it comes to actually big questions that actually matter, people are like, no, no, no, no, no, I can't change my mind about this.

Even if they don't know, they've never even thought about it, like the goodness of God. They haven't trusted them yet. When you come along, like, it's hard for us. When it comes to actual stuff that matters, it's so difficult for people to pivot, even when we should. It's a hot word in Christian culture and in the culture at large, and that word is community.

community. It's kind of a buzzword. People want it. But then do we really? Great question.

Yeah, do we really? Because it comes at a cost, like your time, your control of everything, you don't have total autonomy if you're living in a community.

Yeah.

Other people can have claims on your time and effort and even money. You get your feelings hurt.

You have to learn how to forgive.

We have to let other people be wrong about things to make this work because you're going to find something.

Eventually, you're going to be like, oh, what, what, you believe what, you're wrong.

It's actually not that easy.

And the other thing is you have to be willing to be known.

And we like mediating that.

We like, yeah, I want you to know me, but only from these instagram photos right so that you really don't see that i don't quite look

like that all the time i don't like that comes at a cost i think it's worth it yeah but i think

that's what's stopping a lot of us so this is like like a show called Is It Cake? That is right. Yes, that is a show. My niece started me watching it. We watch it together. And you guess whether something's cake. Whether something's cake. I know it sounds silly, but it is. No, I think it'd be cool. It's weirdly entertaining, yes. Because it is hard to tell.

I mean, it's cool if it's like, is this a life-size real bear?
