So given what I have just watched on TV, as I am talking to you, 2005 is actually quite topical.

You'll have done it as well, I'm sure. But John Sina hung up his boots at the end of 2025 and the

controversy aside, it was quite the event. It was the end of an era. And if you jump back two decades,

you will see him becoming the guy in real time, gets moved to Raw, was about to be the main

event, and there was no looking back. Edge was also simmering away, and WWE is actually quite patient with him, which was going to serve everybody,

and you also have Batista becoming a megastar.

So 2005 actually has hints that WWE is absolutely heading in a much-needed new direction.

However, at the same time, there is still a lot that will blow your brain.

So, yeah, I just saw a lot of raw from 2005 and sit down and go through it.

Number 12, the Edge Matt Hardy Madness.

Matt Hardy's April 2005 release broke the internet because we soon realized there was debt to this.

It wasn't just that one of WWE stars had been let go.

It was all off the back of the Edge Lita affair, which was like

seeing on-screen stories come to life. It caused such a fuss. Fans support brought Matt back to the fold. It was wild. Nobody knew what a flood was happening. But a heavy upside to this was that Hardy was now a mega baby face, and when he does re-return on the 11th of July Raw, it is all there. We even did that match a SummerSlam, but then it only went five minutes.

You could fill the air leaving the room. Now, there was more to this, and we did get other matches too, but I believe the truth is staring you right in the face, Vince McMahon never planned to push hardy at this level,

so sort of pulled the rug out from beneath his feet. I always think that's ridiculous. While I'd rather Matt didn't have his heart broken, the upside was a surge in popularity and he was already over. We could have used this better. He also really felt legitimate too because he started shouting about Ring of Honor, which was a super no-no at the time. We don't forget, this was six years before the plate bomb. It also kind of feels like Edge was going to rise up anyway, so yes, there should have been a very distinct ending to this with Hardy Standing Tall. It's not like he hasn't gone on to have a Hall of Fame career anyway, but still. if you go and sit through it, I believe you will

fill the same. Number 11, the forgotten romance. For the first few months of the year, W.W.W. decided that Randy, and Stacey Keebler were going to be an on-screen item. We then got to the 21st March roar and guess what happens? That's right. Orton drops her with an RKO. Of course he did.

It just felt so sudden and like it was happening mid-build.

I mean, W.W.B. knew that Randy was destined to face the undertaker at WrestleMania, because they wanted him to be the ultimate dickhead. They thought they could use Stacy to get this across. It does get a mad reaction too, but I think due to the fact WW did this in fast forward, it's forgotten about today. Not sure anyone talks about the Randy Takeer feud and then goes, ha ha, let's discuss the involvement of Stacey Keebler. I think it's mostly WWE just trying to get all on back on track because his evolution run had been cut short to try and make him a super young baby face champion. When that didn't work, it was makeup time, so yeah, Randy, go drop Keynes with an RKO. People will most

definitely hate you for it. They did. Sort of felt like Stacey would have been used more after this
