Many veterans remember combat as a profoundly raw experience, a time in their lives where

they're wills, their bravery and their fragility are right out there, without any cover.

Some of them learn that it's possible to kill without remorse and without malice, but it's

impossible to kill without consequence.

Even when the consequence is satisfaction or the sense of a wrong right aid, killing

is something that stays with a person for the rest of their lives.

Coming to terms with it is something Russell Davies discovered is just a part of the process

of coming home.

You know, I think if most people were to take a step back and just try to, for a moment,

fathom the idea of going to a third world country and having to take lives that were taken

by your hands and then coming back and trying to adjust to a social norm that more people

could realize why PTSD is having such a tragic effect on soldiers returning from combat.
