Summary

Murph talks with Jeremy Locke, co-founder of Aerial Recovery, who has transformed his experience in war and trauma into a mission to rescue and rebuild lives after natural disasters, human trafficking operations, and war-torn crises. He opens up about the brutal realities of combat, the invisible wounds of PTSD, and the struggles of maintaining relationships during and after military service.

But Jeremy’s story is not one of defeat — it’s about redemption and purpose. He shares how finding a new mission to serve others became the key to healing himself and saving countless others.

As a green beret, I went on five deployments. If you combine the training into it, it's about

0:05.1

10 years, and that was about eight years, a little over eight years operational. I got there at the

beginning of 2013 to 5th Special Forces Group in Fort Campbell. My first deployment, I think, was in

2015 with them. Between 2015, I deployed every year for five years.

And how long is a deployment? How long do you get to come home?

0:26.2

So the advantage of being a green beret is our deployments are usually shorter. So we do six-month combat deployments normally.

And then we have something called, they're basically training deployments. J-sets, like, so we would go out six months, combat, come back for six months, and then rinse and repeat.

1:29.5

Green Beret with Fifth Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After that, he didn't stop serving

1:36.4

his fellow man. He and his now wife created or co-founded a company called Aerial Group,

and it helps veterans and it helps other people that need help. And we're really going to get into that, because I'm just, I'm, I'm, I'm getting goosebumps here just talking about it now. And he can see me on the camera right now. You can't see him yet, and he's laughing at me, and he's giving me the finger and things like that. And maybe best of all, he's a fellow Irishman. So you know it's going to be a good. We're not going to drink on the show, but you never know what's going to happen, right? My normal listeners, you know, Mercer T-total. Everybody wants me to go to the bar with him because I'm the designated driver, and I'm good with that. All right. So, ladies and gentlemen, let me quit beating around the bush here.
