0:00.0	You know, making this show I get a lot of feedback and one of the most common
0:04.8	misconceptions viewers seem to have about me is that I'm a guy who never smiles
0:10.0	and doesn't know how to have fun and that really bugs me because it couldn't be
0:14.5	further from the truth. In reality, I'm actually very fun, relaxed and easy going.
0:21.2	Now obviously I could just be saying that to you so tonight I'm going to
0:26.4	prove it. How? By spending the entire day with a complete stranger and
0:32.1	measuring his dopamine levels during our hangout, comparing them against a
0:36.3	baseline to prove scientifically that he did have fun hanging out with me.
0:42.7	To start things off, I went on Craigslist and searched through the listings in
0:47.4	the strictly platonic section in order to track down a stranger who'd be
0:51.2	willing to spend time with me. I then sent emails to a handful of posters
0:55.4	looking to hang out. And the next day, after fielding a number of inappropriate
0:59.9	responses, I got a nice email from a man named Brendan who had recently relocated
1:05.3	to Los Angeles and seemed eager to make new friends. So we made plans to hang out
1:09.9	later that week.
1:15.1	I had a million and a half dollars more less in the bank in 1997. A decade to the
1:22.3	month later, I didn't have a million and a half in the bank, I had two and a
1:26.3	half million dollars in debt.
1:31.1	You know what, I wanted to defend myself as I do frequently before my kids who
1:35.8	mocked me. It was one of the worst times of my life because I thought of myself as
1:42.0	being semi-retired. I thought of myself as a full-time investor. I was neither.
1:48.3	Oh no, no, no, you know I didn't do that.
